Meet the co-host: Lucia

Hi everyone and welcome to our little podcast. My name is Lucia, I am a 32 year-old redhead with a passion for reading and TV. I was born in Slovakia, but have actually spent most of my life outside of my motherland - including 10 years in London for my university studies, which is where I met Corrie. I have a PhD in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, but my dream career would be in publishing. I currently live in Dublin, Ireland with my Cypriot husband.

I was a real bookworm as a child (I remember family holidays based on what I was reading, not where we went) but sadly got out of the habit of reading as I grew older. My New Years resolution in 2019 was to read more and I am so happy to have rediscovered my love of books, as well as all the new platforms for sharing this love with other like-minded people.

Harry Potter was my first true obsession (I have a tattoo), closely followed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tattoo pending) and most recently A Court of Thorns and Roses (tattoo undecided). I prefer series to standalones, I hate broken book spines and I love the enemies to lovers trope. I am more likely to pick up a YA fantasy than a non-fiction book, or a contemporary rom-com rather than horror.

I am happiest when I am with my family or friends, be they real or the ones found inside the pages of a great book.
